Hello, friends!<\/strong>
It\u2019s time for another progress report covering the last two weeks. And what a couple of weeks it\u2019s been, let me tell you!<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve probably heard that life is like a zebra: black stripe, white stripe, black stripe, white stripe\u2026 and at the end \u2014 asshole. (Or a tunnel into paradise \u2014 but that\u2019s only for those who prayed daily and never touched adult games.)
Anyway, I seem to have clawed my way out of the black stripe, and since the air doesn\u2019t reek of shit, I dare hope I\u2019m finally trotting along the white one.<\/p>\n

In my previous report, I mentioned that my Amazon account had been hacked and used to buy a ton of $200 non-returnable gift cards. As of now, the issue is being resolved, and it\u2019s looking like things might end in my favor. It\u2019s still too early to pop the champagne, but the bank credited me the stolen amount while they\u2019re sorting things out with Amazon.<\/p>\n

But just as I was recovering from the first hacker attack \u2014 bam! \u2014 the second one hit, and this one was directly related to my game dev work.
This time, my former assistant Aqwaa got hacked. He stepped away from the project after going through a devastating personal tragedy, but as soon as he noticed something fishy, he immediately let me know.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what the hackers did:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Nuked my entire website and left a single page with their crypto wallet.<\/li>\n
  • Purchased ChatGPT Pro for $200 on my account.<\/li>\n
  • Replaced my game builds on itch.io with malware and did a few other nasty things.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Thanks to Aqwaa\u2019s warning, I was able to act fast and contain the damage. So, here\u2019s where we\u2019re at now:<\/p>\n

    • I fully restored the website.<\/li>\n
    • OpenAI refunded the payment \u2014 even though it was officially non-refundable.<\/li>\n
    • Only a couple of people managed to download the hacked game builds on itch.io. I emailed them, explained everything, and as compensation, they now have free access to both my games and future updates.<\/li>\n
    • In short, the attack fizzled out like a wet firecracker. Another wannabe hacker got their little power trip and crawled back to their incel basement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Between all this drama and a heavy workload (seriously, it feels like I\u2019m the only one who didn\u2019t<\/em> go on vacation), I didn\u2019t have that much time for the game.
      But that doesn\u2019t mean I have nothing to show! Actually, instead of working till 2\u202fAM as usual, I\u2019ve been pushing it to 4\u202fAM. I wrapped up another event with Jose and completed most of the next one too.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

      This week, life seems to be returning to normal. If you follow me on Xwitter or Discord, you might\u2019ve seen that yesterday I hit a record number of Beauty and the Thug renders in a single day!
      And guess what? I\u2019ve got some more great news \u2014 I\u2019ve got a new assistant!<\/p>

      We had a few technical hiccups the past few days, which ended with him reinstalling Windows (classic fix), but luckily it worked! His first task was post-processing the images for this new event \u2014 and he nailed it.<\/p>

      Bey is from Western Indonesia, have advanced skills in Photoshop, and probably likes my games. He also has a Komodo dragon named Spooky, which he walks on a leash every morning.
      Okay, that last part about the pet Komodo dragon might not be entirely accurate. To be honest, I don\u2019t know Bey that<\/em> well yet\u2014but I hope we\u2019ll catch up on that soon.
      He\u2019ll be introducing himself on our Discord server shortly, so if you have any questions about the game\u2014or if you happen to be looking for a boyfriend for your female Komodo dragon\u2014feel free to reach out to him!
      (Again, the Komodo dragon part might not be 100% true.)<\/p>\n

      There\u2019s a 12-hour time difference between me and Bey. Some might say that\u2019s a downside\u2014but I say it\u2019s perfect! Now our team never sleeps. When it\u2019s 4 a.m. here and I\u2019m finally heading to bed (because I need to wake up at 7 for work), it\u2019s only 4 p.m. for Bey.<\/p>\n

      The only tricky part is that terms like \u201cyesterday,\u201d \u201ctoday,\u201d and \u201ctomorrow\u201d have become pretty blurry. But no worries\u2014we\u2019ll manage!<\/p>\n
